David Poyser MISSING ARTWORKS

Information:

​

A significant number of artworks created by me are missing / lost / stolen / misplaced, given away by people who do not own them, or their locations are otherwise unknown to me, with one location being deliberately withheld from me for some odd reason. I suspect that some have been destroyed by unscrupulous third parties, though I hope not.

It may be that numerous paintings from Loughborough College of Art were 'stolen' by students and painted over or on the back of them. I know for a fact that one large painting on canvas from Loughborough was indeed stolen by a student who turned it over and painted on the back, because I found the student responsible actually painting on the back of it and made him pay for the stretcher frame, but not for my painting and with hindsight I want my painting back, as with all the others. In the future any such paintings discovered as worked over by someone else must still be returned to me or my estate, when they will be restored to their original state if at all possible, and the 'worked over' parts will be cleaned off. The paintings are mine originally and they must be returned.

I have photographs of some of the works, as shown below, with information about them.

Where there are no photographs, I have noted descriptions about them.

I would appreciate receiving information about any of my missing artworks, and can be contacted through this website.

If in time my name and work become widely known, then missing artworks may magically be brought forward for sale or authentication. At that point there must be legal checks for ownership / provenance / origin. And what proves to be mine must be returned to me / my estate.
